I was able to pickup blender in a week.. kholland@xxx.edu A few days ago I download the "BLENDER", cause I'm weak of using POVray and it's f..kin' ASCII-file-editing. It was a bit of a challenge to learn, at least without reading the manuals :), but now that I have got the hang of it, I just can't help loving it. It's a bit "hackish": no instructions, small, obscure buttons and so on, but it's a dream to use once you understand the system. After 10 or 12 hours of total perplexity I'm starting to understand this really kind of elegant and wonderfull interface .It renders fast and well even on this old box.I've found lots of ways to make evreything turn into a little file named core too , nonetheless this is obviously gonna be a fun program to play with as it gets more stable.
